How did you come up the landscape and description for how the spirit world looks?
I did a lot of research on shamanism and legends surrounding the spirit world. I thought it was fascinating how the spirit world is often described as a mirror of our world and that in the center is a magical, thriving, tree. I definitely knew I wanted to use this as the landscape in the story but also add my own flair to it.If you could pick a soundtrack for your book, what would it be?
Ooh, there’s definitely a mix of upbeat and mellow throughout the story, so I think a fun soundtrack would include some 90’s R&B (because that would totally be Kelsey’s vibe), and if Tina were riding along with her then either some Portishead or Esthero. I have an eclectic taste in music so I love listening to different styles and genres.
